Beaded Cabasa

Drawing from traditional African designs, these cabasas feature a dried, hollowed-out gourd wrapped in a net of colorful beads, affixed to a smoothly turned wooden handle. To play, grip the netted gourd with your non-dominant hand and twist the handle back and forth, producing a lively, crisp sound. Cabasas are popular in music therapy due to the minimal hand movement needed to generate a satisfyingly pleasant tone.
