Our best-selling singing bowl gift set features a machine-crafted brass singing bowl, a wooden striker, and a simple cushion, all beautifully packaged in a handmade Himalayan lokta paper box. The box includes a concise history of the singing bowl, playing instructions, and suggested uses. Machine-made metal bowls, with their smooth, polished surfaces, are easier to play than traditional hand-beaten bowls, offering steady movement that’s perfect for beginners. Hand-beaten bowls, while richer and more complex in tone, require more skill to master compared to their machine-made counterparts. HOW TO PLAY: Place the singing bowl in your palm, or for smaller bowls, rest it on your fingertips. Grasp the striker midway, with fingertips pointing downward. Start by gently tapping the striker against the bowl’s side to ‘warm it up.’ Then, with consistent pressure, rub the striker clockwise around the outer rim, using a full arm motion as if stirring a large pot of soup. Keep the striker straight, apply steady pressure, and let the sound gradually build as the bowl resonates with the vibration.
